Creature Feature With Nyx

Greetings, mortals! Welcome to Creature Feature with Nyx, the cryptid and folklore podcast hosted by an actual creature. Nyx is a tiny void demon cat who crawled out of the abyss to set the record straight about her monster friends. Every Thursday, she digs into a different cryptid, legend, or haunting, from Mothman and the Jersey Devil to ghost stories, yokai, and strange lights in the sky. We'll explore where each legend came from, the sightings and the evidence, what the skeptics say, and what Nyx really thinks (she's probably met them). Every creature gets an official Monster Rating, and every episode ends with Tales from the Imps, where Nyx reads real spooky stories sent in by listeners. Part investigation, part comedy, and all spooky, it's for anyone who loves cryptids, folklore, paranormal mysteries, and the things that go bump in the night. New episodes every Thursday. Watch the video version on YouTube, or listen here. Have a strange encounter or a hometown legend? Send it to creaturefeaturewithnyx@gmail.com and it could be featured on the show! Stay curious, stay spooky, and don't stare into the void... she's staring back. πŸ–€

Red eyes in the dark. Wings that blot out the stars. A car chase at a hundred miles an hour. πŸ¦‡
For the very first episode of Creature Feature with Nyx, we're heading to Point Pleasant, West Virginia, to meet the most famous winged cryptid in America: the Mothman. (He's also my friend. I'm completely unbiased. Mostly.)
In November 1966, two young couples driving past an abandoned WWII explosives plant saw a tall gray figure with glowing red eyes, and it followed their car all the way to town. Over the next year, dozens more people reported the same creature. We'll dig into the gravediggers who saw something glide over their heads, the dog who chased two red eyes into the dark and never came back, the night that started it all, and how a hit 1960s TV show gave the creature its name.
Then it's investigation time: the sandhill crane and owl theories (which I have feelings about), John Keel and The Mothman Prophecies, the Men in Black, and a smiling stranger who called himself Indrid Cold. We'll also talk, respectfully, about the Silver Bridge collapse of December 1967, the 46 people who lost their lives, and why the Mothman legend became tied to it.
Plus the very first Monster Rating, and our first ever Tales from the Imps with two real listener stories: a knock on a hotel window that left one listener with scratches he still can't explain, and a fireball that visited a house in Hopetown, South Africa on the same day every year. Thank you to Alistair and Vill47 for sharing them! πŸ–€
